Our History
The Lambda chapter is the 11th established chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, founded on May 18th, 1948 at the University of Michigan. Our chapter works incredibly closely with the Nu chapter of KKY and the Michigan Marching Band, while also devoting our time to various other athletic bands, our campus bands, and to the local public school band community, specifically the Lincoln school district.

Lambda has two stuffed lambs & chapter mascots named Sally and Duh. Along with notebooks spanning back at least a decade, they are passed from member to member. The sister keeps Sally or Duh in their keep and reflect in the notebook about how Sally or Duh has provided friendship and meaning through their time together. At the next chapter meeting, the sister shares what they wrote in the notebooks before passing it to another deserving sister. It is a special way that Lambda sisters reflect on the love and friendship they have for each other in our daily lives.
